Olivier de Marneffe (1981) joined Semetis to help develop and enhance Semetis Intelligence, anin-house performance management platform for online advertising campaigns.
Olivier graduated as a Civil Engineer in Electricity (electronics and telecom) from UCLouvain. He started his career as a research assistant for the UCLouvain Crypto Group where he participated in an european project investigating the future of digital cinema in Europe. He also worked on digital rights management issues related to the multicultural landscape of the european movies production.
After that, Olivier turned to the field of verifiable remote electronic voting, focusing on the practicality of large scale elections over the internet. In March 2009, the Crypto Group organized the election of the UCLouvain's Rector: one of the first multi-thousand voters verifiable election entirely done on the web. At that time, Olivier realized the largely unexploited potential of internet for enhancing the everyday life of every citizen. And he decided to dedicate his career to the development of innovative web projects; hence his motivation for the Semetis Intelligence project.
Olivier is fluent in French, English, Python and Javascript.
He likes the Coen brother's movies, eating sushis and wearing sandals.
