Julie is currently eBusiness Analyst at Semetis. She joined the team at the end of summer 2020 after graduating with a bachelor in Business Engineering at the UCL and a master’s degree at the KUL with a major in Entrepreneurship and Technologies. Right before that, she spent one year in the US at Newman University (Wichita, Kansas) in order to combine studies and competitive sport. Additionally, during her last study year, she had the opportunity to spend a semester in Munich (LMU), Germany, as part of the Erasmus program. Her international experiences allowed her to improve her communication skills and made her more confident and self-determined.
Julie got interested in digital technologies and particularly in Artificial Intelligence through her major and several projects throughout her studies, one of them being the development of an Internet-of-Things solution for real-time soil-monitoring in partnership with the KUL incubator through which she developed additional knowledge on the digital ecosystem. She could also develop her business skills through a voluntary position as Business Developer for the AIESEC. Further, she is active in a non-profit organization raising funds against child-cancer. These experiences made her realize the importance of digital nowadays and gave her the willing to deep further into that field.
Next to her studies, Julie is a sporty person. She is curious of trying new disciplines and regularly practices hockey, padel, golf and kitesurfing. She also likes to travel and discover new cultures. Besides, she enjoys live music and likes to spend quality time with her friends and family.
